Privacy policy
The site omnivg.com (“Omni”) is run by [operator name]. This page describes what data we store, why, for how long and how you can manage it.
Without an account
You can read without signing up. We use no analytics, ads or third-party trackers. Reader settings (mode, direction), your reading progress (the last 50 titles) and the chapters you read (the last 500) are stored only in your browser (localStorage). After your first sign-in the progress moves to your account and is removed from the browser.
Google account
Signing in is possible only with Google. We request only the basic data (openid, email, profile) and store:
- your Google account ID and email address, to recognize you when you sign in;
- a nickname: the name from Google is used only for the first nickname and is not stored separately; you can change the nickname in the settings;
- sign-in sessions: time, IP address and browser data (User-Agent), for security and to keep you signed in;
- that you confirmed being 18 or older, and when;
- your reading progress (where you stopped in each title) and the chapters you marked as read;
- as the features appear: personal lists and favorites, title ratings, chapter likes.
- chapter comments: the text, the time, the chapter and which comment you replied to; your reports about comments.
We do not store your Google profile photo or Google access tokens. The avatar on the site is generated automatically. Lists and ratings are not public; ratings count only toward the overall average score, and chapter likes only toward the total under the chapter.
Comments are public: every visitor sees them together with your nickname and the generated avatar (for 18+ chapters, after confirming their age). You can delete your comment; an administrator can delete any comment. If a comment already has replies, a “Comment deleted” mark without text or author stays in its place, and other people's replies are kept. Deleting your account deletes all your comments the same way.
You can report someone else's comment: we store the reason, an optional explanation, the time and who reported it. Only administrators see reports; the author of the comment does not learn who reported it. After 10 reports a comment is hidden until an administrator decides.
For the site team (owner, moderators, translators) we also store the account role, which titles a translator added, and title deletion requests and title flags with their reason and time. Only the team sees this data, and it is included in the data export.
Cookies
We use only necessary cookies, so there is no consent banner:
better-auth.session_token(with the__Secure-prefix on HTTPS): the sign-in session, up to 7 days;- temporary Better Auth cookies while signing in with Google (protection against forged requests), removed after sign-in;
omni_age_ok: the 18+ age confirmation, 1 year (turned off with the “18+ content” switch in the menu or in the settings);omni_locale: the interface language you chose with the language switcher, 1 year (only after you chose it);omni_content_langs: the edition languages you chose in the catalog filter, 1 year (only after you chose them).
View counting
To show popular titles we count views: one per visitor per title per day, after 10 seconds of reading in an open tab. To avoid duplicates we use the account ID or, without an account, a one-way hash of the IP address and the title with a random key that exists only in the server's memory and is replaced every day at 00:00 UTC. IP addresses are neither stored nor written to logs for this; the database keeps only the total number of views of a title. Requests from search engine robots are not counted.
Who else processes data
- Google: authentication, when you choose to sign in with Google;
- Cloudflare: the network that delivers and protects the site (it processes visitors' IP addresses) and the image storage.
We do not sell data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep data
- account data: until you delete the account;
- sessions: until they end (up to 7 days) or you sign out;
- database backups: up to 30 days, then they are deleted automatically (deleted accounts disappear from them within that time).
Your rights
In the settings you can change your nickname, download all your data (JSON) and delete your account with all its data. For any other questions about your data, write to [email for data requests].
